Daily writing. Real progress. A
community that gets it.

The most powerful writing habit you’ll ever build starts here.

A Very Important Meeting is your daily ritual of showing up for your writing. No pressure. No perfectionism. Just a warm, welcoming space where accountability meets consistency, and your story finally moves forward.

If you’re ready to make writing a consistent part of your life, this is your place.

Join us every day (including weekends!) at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.

Hear from our writers

“Working within AVIM enabled me to keep going by actually spending the time working (the ‘butt in chair’ principle) and because fellow ‘regulars’ encouraged me. I am thrilled to have my book finished. And I am grateful for AVIM and all the leaders and other writers I met.”

— Annis Cassells

“As a full-time freelance writer and a doctoral degree candidate, I write all day long, but not on my novel.

AVIM has allowed me to make more progress on this book in a month than in the entire last year, where it showed up on my to-do list but always got de-prioritized by other writing projects.”

— Laura Briggs

How It Works

One

Find Your Focus

Each session starts with a 10-minute guided meditation and a carefully chosen quote or poem. It’s a chance to arrive — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally — so you can step into your writing with presence and intention.

Two

Make real progress

Then we write. Just 45 minutes of silent, focused time, with the energy of a creative community behind you. You’ll be surprised by how much you can get done when distraction melts away and momentum kicks in.

Three

Connect with your people

After we write, you’re invited to stay for a brief check-in. Share what you accomplished, ask a question, or just soak in the collective motivation. This is where writing gets less lonely and way more fun.

Sessions happen daily on Zoom.
Come as you are — in pajamas, from your kitchen table, or even your (hopefully parked) car. What matters is that you show up. This is the writer’s room you’ve always wanted.

Your host, Paulette Perhach

All meetings are led by Paulette Perhach or a beloved sub! Paulette has four years of experience guiding meditations and 20 years of writing experience.

“First forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not. Habit will help you finish and polish your stories. Inspiration won’t. Habit is persistence in practice.”

— Octavia Butler
